We’ve officially wrapped up Week 8 of the 2026 State Combined Campaign!
As we continue working toward our statewide goal, this week’s featured resource is all about getting a little help from the top. After all, sometimes the most effective campaign encouragement comes from the people leading the charge!

Resource of the Week: Sample Leadership Memo
Sometimes, all it takes is a little encouragement from the boss!
We know our campaign coordinators are doing the heavy lifting when it comes to organizing activities, sharing resources, and encouraging employee participation. But a successful campaign shouldn’t rest entirely on your shoulders!
One of the most effective ways to build momentum is to involve your department’s leadership in championing the State Combined Campaign.
That’s why our Coordinator Hub includes a Sample Leadership Memo that can be customized and shared by your department’s commissioner, director, secretary, or other leadership.

A message from leadership can help reinforce that the SCC is more than just another annual initiative. It’s an opportunity for state employees to come together in support of organizations making a difference in communities across Alabama.
Here’s your challenge for Week 9: Get your leadership involved!
Consider reaching out to your department’s leadership and asking them to:
- Send a department-wide message encouraging employees to learn about SCC and consider participating.
- Share why giving matters to them personally, whether that’s a favorite charity, a cause close to their heart, or the importance of community service.
- Recognize employees who have already participated and thank them for their generosity.
- Highlight your department’s progress and encourage employees to help reach its campaign goal.
And don’t worry, you don’t have to ask your commissioner to become a professional fundraiser overnight! A short, sincere message of encouragement can go a long way.
Coordinator Tip: Make it easy for your leadership to say yes! Rather than asking them to write something from scratch, send along the sample memo with a few suggested edits and offer to coordinate its distribution. A little preparation on your end can make a big difference in getting leadership engaged.
Remember, the most successful campaigns aren’t necessarily the ones with the biggest events or the most elaborate incentives. They’re the ones where employees feel informed, encouraged, and connected to the mission.
And when leadership helps set that tone, the impact can reach throughout the entire department.
Together, we’re Giving Today, Changing Tomorrow.
Where Are We At?
We’re halfway there! 🎉
That’s right! We’ve officially reached 50% of our statewide goal, marking an exciting milestone in the 2026 State Combined Campaign!
Total Pledged: $399,858.75
Total Donors: 3,373
Percent of Goal: 50.94%
Thanks to the generosity of state employees and the dedication of coordinators like you, we’ve now raised more than half of our $785,000 statewide goal!
But we’re not taking our foot off the gas just yet! With plenty of campaign still ahead of us, there’s an opportunity to build on this momentum and make the second half even stronger than the first.
We’ve made it halfway to our goal. Now, let’s go the distance!
Keep encouraging your coworkers, celebrating your department’s progress, and reminding employees that every contribution – large or small – helps make a difference.
Thank you for helping us reach this milestone! Together, we’re Giving Today, Changing Tomorrow.
This Week’s Goal-Getters!
Who’s joining the 100% club this week?
Congratulations to our newest Goal-Getters! Your leadership and enthusiasm are helping move the campaign forward, one pledge at a time.
As we head into Week 9, remember that you don’t have to carry the campaign alone. Lean on your department’s leadership, engage your coworkers, and don’t hesitate to reach out to our team if there’s anything we can do to help.
Whether it’s a quick email from your commissioner, a conversation with a coworker, or a department-wide fundraising activity, every effort helps make a difference.
Thank you for continuing to lead the way!
Together, we’re Giving Today, Changing Tomorrow.
